“Retro Rainbow Rejuvenation” es el nombre de la nueva colección de esta diseñadora de Reino Unido, Deryn Relph; quién decidió involucrar elementos que a muchos nos encantan: crochet, color + estilo retro, logrando piezas hermosamente confeccionadas. Así que para los apasionados del crochet, no se queden sólo con la idea de los accesorios, pueden crear entornos únicos, y sobre todo, muy cálidos.

“Retro Rainbow Rejuvenation”is the name of the new collection of this designer in the UK, Deryn Relph, who decided to involve many elements that we love: crochet, color + retro style, making beautifully made pieces. Danny es uno de esos artistas guiados únicamente por su expresividad (nada de escuela), su arte es el resultado de la búsqueda individual de su personalidad. Todo comenzó cuando se dió cuenta que le gustaba estar sólo, no se sentía identificado con nadie más, así que, en esos momentos de aislamiento… de hacerse su ropa, con la máquina de coser de su abuela, pasó a experimentar con: esculturas en 3d, esculturas en 2d, bolsas, accesorios e ilustración, dejando muy en claro su estilo, que a base de su ideología “bad sewing” le dió el toque único que estaba buscando.

Danny es un ejemplo de identidad-creativa: profunda, personal, y expuesta, sin contaminantes.

Danny is one of those artists, guided only by their expressiveness (no school), his art is the individual search result of his personality. It all started when he realized that he liked being alone, was not found with anyone else, so in these moments of isolation … began to make his clothes, sewing with the machine from his grandmother, after went on to experiment with: 3D sculptures, sculptures in 2D, bags, accessories and artwork, making it very clear his style, which base their ideology “bad sewing” gave a unique touch.

La próxima parada de Handmadesign, después de RCF, fué: visitar el “Pueblo Amish más grande de U.S.A.”, en Ohio. Estar en ese pueblo fué como transportarse en el tiempo… carruajes, casas antigüas, gente con ropa “hecha a mano” y sin estampados, vegetación (de la mejor que he visto), y artesanías en cada uno de los patios de las casas. Amish, es un pueblo que se esfuerza por vivir lejos de la sociedad común, por lo que sus habilidades artesanales son de lo mejor.

En el pueblo, hay aproximadamente 20 establecimientos o “casas artesanales” que se prestan como pequeños centros turísticos; y Gramma Fannie´s es uno de los que me causó mas impacto; es un grupo de artesanas “maestras del patchwork” o mejor conocido como “Quilt”; que: señoras y señores: todo lo fabrican a mano!, y ahí estaba yo, en medio de tantas mantas con patrones impresionantes, preguntándome: ¿Porqué no utilizan una máquina de coser?, a lo que amablemente una artesana contestó: “la máquina de coser nos dá una estructura rígida, predecible y artificial; mientras que la mano nos dá una suavidad sorpresiva en las puntadas, que nos hace sentir en casa, cobijados por algo más humano, con más amor”.

Y definitivamente, ellas saben como ser las mejores en su trabajo. En la tienda hay désde: telas en rollos, en presentación “hamburguesa”, hilos, revistas, venta de patrones, cobijas, centros de mesa, hasta: un poco de performance de la elaboración.

The next stop after RCF, was: visit the “largest Amish Village” in Ohio. Being in that town was like being transported in time … carriages, old houses, people with handmade clothes and without patterns, vegetation (the best I’ve seen), and crafts in every backyard. Amish, is a town that strives to live away from mainstream society, so their craft skills are the best.

In town, there are approximately 20 stores or craft houses “that are provided as small resorts, and Gramma Fannie’s is one of the impact caused me more, is a group of artisans” patchwork masters “or better known as “Quilt” that: Ladies and gentlemen, all are made by hand!, and there I was, among so many amazing patterns blankets, wondering: Why not use a sewing machine?, to an artisan who kindly answered “sewing machine gives us a rigid, predictable and artificial, while the soft hand gives us a surprise in the stitching, which makes us feel at home, sheltered by something more human, more lovely.”

Original el trabajo de Eanie, hecho con material reciclado, combina perfectamente retazos de distintas fibras y con ésto dá vida a personajes poco habituales. Me encanta el estilo que resulta, es un estilo muy “trash” que con un poco de tinta aplicada resulta: más que esculturas, en “ilustraciones con tela en tercera dimensión”!

Ahora, mi pregunta es: ¿Porqué no ha colaborado en algún corto stop motion?, sería genial ver ésto en movimiento.

Ayumi es de Japón, pero reside en EUA, y hace estas excelentes combinaciones con telas, creando objetos que además de funcionales, son decoración para tu entorno. Algo que llamó bastante mi atención es que en su blog pueden encontrar foto-tutoriales para crear los distintos accesorios idénticos a sus creaciones. Es una lástima que por el momento no haya artículos en su tienda Etsy, esperemos que en algún momento regrese : )

Something that caught my attention enough is that in her blog you can find photo-tutorials to create various accessories identical to her creations. It is a pity that at present there are no items in your Etsy shop, hopefully sometime back : )
